To be held at Warwick University in February 2012
This year we are hoping to improve on our position 2 years ago.
Maidenhead Festival
Published by: Bev on 06/08/11 - 06:12Charvil Voices will be competing in Maidenhead Festival this year on Novemebr 2nd at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts. We will be singing a collection of songs by Great American Composers.

Great American Composers
Published by: Bev on 17/06/11 - 08:00Next term Charvil Voices will be singing an exciting collection of songs by the great American composers such as Rodgers and Hamerstein, Cole Porter and Gershwin.
Rehearsals start on Monday 12th September at 8pm at Charvil Village Hall.
We will be entering for Maidenhead Festival in November and performing in concert with Reading Male Voice Choir in March, as well as entering the 2012 Choir of the Year competition.
Blake at The Anvil Basingstoke
Published by: Bev on 18/04/11 - 19:17On Sunday 17th April 26 members of Charvil Voices, Tapestry and Charvil Girls Choir travelled down to the Anvil Theatre at Basingstoke to sing with classical boy-band Blake. Blake are currently in the middle of a UK tour and have been inviting local choirs to sing with them at each venue. We sang five songs with the Brit Award Winners - Vide Cor Meum from the film Hannibal, Leonard Cohens's Hallelujah, Nessan Dorma, I Vow to Thee my Country and Jerusalem. This was a great experience for all the coir members and coms at the end of a busy, but very successful term.
Let's Sing
Published by: Bev on 18/04/11 - 19:15On a sunny Sunday afternoon in March Charvil Voices were joined at Norden Farm Centre for the Arts by Tapestry ladies choir, Charvil Girls Choir and soloists for their first combined concert.
Accompanied by a grand piano, the choirs sang beautifully, obviously enjoying themselves.
Charvil Voices sang the whole concert without having the music in front of them for the first time and were proud of their acheivement. The concert was well received by the audience and the choirs enjoyed hearing each other sing too.
One lucky programme winner went home with the sound of music in her ears and a hamper of Easter goodies.
We are looking forward to our next combined concert.
Choir Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held at Charvil Village Hall, starting promptly at 8pm on Monday evenings during term time. New memebrs welcome.

Come and join us on a Monday evening at 8pm at Charvil Village Hall for an enjoyable evening of singing. We sing a variety of songs from serious to light-hearted. We have 2 public concerts a year and usually enter a competition each year.

Sing, Supper and Quiz
Published by: Bev on 09/08/10 - 19:14Charvil voices Summer sing, supper and quiz was greatly enjoyed by all those who attended.
The ladies choir had fun showing off their singing to family and friends. The supper provided by ladies of the choir was eaten with enthusiasm. The quiz was greated with groans and cheers with prizes for winners and losers. A fun way to end our year before the Summer break.
We are looking forward to learning new songs in the Autumn term ready for our Christmas Concert.
BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year
Published by: Bev on 07/06/10 - 08:12Charvil Voices are delighted to announce that they have progressed to the next round of the 2010 Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition following the competition in Oxford.
We had a good morning at the Shedonian Theatre in Oxford despite our coach breaking down on the way!We enjoyed singing our selection. A is for Alto for especially enjoyed by the audience.
We look forward to hearing the results of the next round.
BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year
Published by: Bev on 30/03/10 - 18:10Charvil Voices are delighted to be entering for this year's BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year competition. We will be travelling to the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford on Saturday 5th June to perform. We have high hopes of success on the day.
Not long to go now - we have practised hard and are looking forward to an enjoyable day.
